Jira

Sync Jira issues and projects into a collection.

The Jira connector brings issue content into the Collection: title, description and whatever is recorded in the text fields.

It shares Atlassian authentication with the Confluence connector, and the configuration can reuse the credential already registered.

Prerequisites

  1. The Jira OAuth credentials registered in the organization, under Credentials.
  2. The instance's domain allowed under Settings › Knowledge Sources.

When the organization already uses Confluence, the form lets you point to the Confluence credential instead of requiring a new authorization.

Configure

The form asks for the instance and the set of projects to sync.

When Jira helps, and when it gets in the way

Issues are a good archive for questions about history: why a decision was made, whether a problem has come up before, what fix was applied.

Issues also carry ongoing discussion, discarded hypotheses and individual opinion. Indexing an entire project makes the Agent treat all of that as fact, and it starts answering with things nobody decided.

Scoping to resolved projects, or by issue type, usually works better than the full backlog.
