Workspace models

Which models are available to whoever creates agents in this workspace.

Models defines which options, out of everything the organization's providers offer, show up in the form of an Agent in this workspace.

The screen is accessible to the Owner; the Auditor sees it read-only. Curator and Editor can't reach it, even though they are the ones who create the most Agents.

The list

The enabled models, with search by name and each one's source provider.

The list isn't the organization's catalog: it is the subset this workspace received. Models that exist in the organization but aren't assigned to this workspace don't show up.

Where the list comes from

The chain has three links, on different screens:

  1. Organization › Providers: the service account is registered.
  2. Organization › Workspaces › Manage models: the models are assigned to this workspace.
  3. Workspace › Settings › Models: this screen, where you confirm what became available.

A workspace with no models won't let you create an Agent. The form's Model field is required and stays empty, and the error message doesn't point to link 2 of the chain.

When a model disappears

If an Agent that used to work stops listing its model, the broken link is almost always number 2: someone removed that model from this workspace in the organization's workspace management.

The Agent stays saved with the old model, but doesn't run. Editing it requires choosing a model that is still available.

Choose among the available ones

Three criteria are usually enough:

  • Context window: Agents with many Collections or long conversations need larger windows.
  • Cost: larger models charge more per token, and the effect shows up in the Dashboard at the end of the month.
  • Behavior: the same prompt yields different answers across models. Test before publishing.

Next steps

  • Understand the metadata that defines each model in Model metadata.
  • Cap consumption per model in Quotas.
