Aumo Docs

Files

Upload, check and remove a collection's documents.

The Files tab lists the documents uploaded manually to a Collection, with the state of each one.

It is the tab that opens by default when you enter a Collection, and where most "the agent doesn't know this" problems get solved.

Upload documents

Use Upload files on an empty collection, or + Source in the top bar when there is already content.

Formats with selectable text, such as native PDF, DOCX and TXT, are the most predictable. Scanned PDFs work, but depend on text extraction and take longer.

Read the list

Each row shows the document, its origin and its state. Search filters by name, and the filter icon narrows by state.

The origin column tells manual uploads apart from what came through a connector: manual documents show as Upload, the rest show the source's URL or identifier.

Replace a document

There is no content editing. To update a document, remove the old version and upload the new one.

Uploading only the new one, without removing the old one, leaves both indexed. The Agent then finds passages from both versions and may answer with the outdated one.

This is the most common way for an Agent to give contradictory answers: two versions of the same document live in the same Collection.

Remove

Removing a document takes it out of future answers. Earlier conversations that cited it stay in the history as they are.

Removal isn't immediate in every case. The document leaves the search index, which may take a few moments in large collections.

When a file doesn't show up

  • It is still processing: check its state in the list itself.
  • It failed: the error states are described in Indexing.
  • It came from a connector: synced documents live on the Connectors tab, not here.
