Overview
The nodes that take the flow outside the platform.
Three nodes talk to external systems. The difference between them is how much configuration you have to do by hand.
What each node does
- HTTP request: a full API client. Method, URL, headers and body, all set up by you.
- Send email: sends messages over SMTP using a credential already registered for the workspace.
- Integration: calls one of the ready-made connections turned on in the workspace, with the tools it exposes.
Which one to choose
For services the platform already knows, the Integration needs less configuration and keeps the access outside the flow's design.
For internal systems or ones without a ready-made integration, the HTTP request is the way, taking care not to leave credentials written in the node.
Failures at run time, not at build time
All three depend on configuration done outside the canvas: an SMTP credential, an integration turned on in the workspace, an endpoint that is up.
The canvas accepts the flow anyway. The error shows up when someone runs it, and the run log points to the node.
