YouTube
Search videos and look up trends, categories and channels through the YouTube Data API.
The YouTube integration uses the YouTube Data API to search videos and retrieve information about them, about channels and about what is trending.
It is the integration with the most tools in the catalog, so check in the Agent only the ones it actually uses.
The tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
Search Vídeos | Searches videos with filters by channel, date, duration, language and relevance. |
Trending Vídeos | Lists the most popular videos by region or category. |
Video Details | Retrieves a video's full details by ID. |
Video Categories | Lists the video categories available by region. |
Channel Info | Retrieves a channel's information by ID or username. |
How the tools chain together
Typical use goes through two calls: Search Vídeos returns the identifiers, and Video Details fetches the details of one of them.
An Agent with both checked does this chaining on its own, as long as the iteration limit allows more than one call per answer.
Use cases
Brand monitoring and content research are the two direct cases: what was published about a topic, which channel covers a given subject, what is trending in a region.
Limits
The YouTube Data API works with a daily consumption quota. Flows that search in a loop, or heavily used Agents, can exhaust the quota before the end of the day, and calls fail until it resets.
Next steps
- Turn on the integration in the workspace in Overview.
- Adjust the limit of calls per answer in Create an agent.
