AI automations

The features that use a model on their own, outside of any Agent.

Some platform features call a model on their own, without anyone asking. The AI automations tab is where you choose which model each one uses.

All of them consume tokens like any other call.

The automations

  • Auto Curator: automatically organizes and categorizes the workspace's data.
  • Semantic Search: improves search across the organization's content.
  • Rename Chats: generates conversation titles from their content. The prompt it uses is editable.
  • Admin Personal Workspace: the model for the administrative workspace's automatic features.
  • Code Suggestion: suggests code in Workflows and automations.

Each has its own model selector. Nothing requires them to be the same.

Choosing the model

These tasks are short, repetitive and undemanding, such as summarizing a conversation in one sentence or categorizing a document. Large models don't improve the result much and multiply the cost.

The practical criterion is the reverse of an Agent's: here, start with the cheapest available model and only move up if quality gets in the way.

The consumption of these automations shows up in Observability without being tied to an Agent. A cost nobody can explain, spread throughout the day, usually comes from here, especially from Rename Chats, which fires on every new conversation.

The Rename Chats prompt

It is the only automation with an editable prompt. The default asks for a short one-sentence summary.

Adjusting it changes the title of every new conversation in the organization. Titles that are too long break in the Chat sidebar, so keep the brevity instruction.
